You will join our team to participate in the development and maintenance of our web and mobile applications. Your activities will include project definition (identification of functional requirements and selection of the appropriate solution), design and development, implementation of tests, as well as deployments and improvements/corrections of these applications.

PROFILE DESCRIPTION
Full stack development experience, including React, Symphony/Node.js, MongoDB, as well as knowledge of deployment and continuous integration with Docker and AWS would be a plus.

ROLE
Vegetal Signals is recruiting for a Data Scientist within the Models & Machine Learning team, reporting to the Senior Data Scientist. The role will include :
– Design predictive models and participate in their deployment in production in the applications developed by Vegetal Signals
– Produce data analysis in POCs, for different types of crops, as requested by Vegetal Signals partners
– Share R&D results in presentations, reports and possibly articles
– Monitor the state of the art in scientific fields of interest to Vegetal Signals

PROFILE
– Holder of a PhD, engineering degree or master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, econometrics, etc.)
– At least one previous experience in a similar role
– Solid experience in Python or R programming
– Practical experience in machine learning and deep learning, especially for regression and classification
– Knowledge in signal processing
– Knowledge of software development, including model deployment
– Ability to formalize and model business problems (here agronomic), to take into account the industrial context and the reality of the field
– Ability to present results in a clear, concise form, adapted to the recipients
– Taste for research, experimentation, disruptive innovation

As a trainee attached to our R&D pole, under the supervision of an electronics engineer. You will work on topics that, once completed, will be implemented in our future sensors.
Your role will be to realize POC (proof of concept) as well as a prototype of a network of connected objects in star taking into account the constraints of the embedded (low consumption, low performance and robust in time).

PROFILE DESCRIPTION
You are currently a student in an electronics course. You have a solid base in electronics and are comfortable with microcontroller programming. Knowledge of RF / LoRa / 2G / 3G / LTE-M is a plus.

INTERNSHIP
The VS8 sensors developed by Vegetal Signals are deployed in the field to monitor the electrophysiological activity of cultivated plants using 8 pairs of electrodes. Each sensor embeds calculations to extract characteristics from the measured signal. This data is sent by radio transmission to the Vegetal Signals servers to be used in predictive models.
The course concerns the remote detection, from the characteristics of the signal emitted by the sensors, of material problems that may occur in the field. The goal of the internship is to develop algorithms to detect these events. Different methods, based on statistical models (e.g. hidden Markov models), as well as on machine learning algorithms, will be tested.
The internship will take place in the Models & Machine Learning team of Vegetal Signals.
The internship may lead to a CIFRE thesis on a subject of statistical modeling and machine learning applied to electrophysiology
plant.

PROFILE
– Final year Master or Grande Ecole student in applied mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, computational neuroscience, etc.
– Programming skills in Python or R
– Knowledge of machine learning and statistical signal processing
– Ability to present results in a clear, concise form, adapted to the recipients
– Interest in life modeling and agronomic issues
– Taste for research, experimentation, disruptive innovation
